Cochineal Beetles Will Go Extinct! Also Find Out About a Rumor That is not True

May 9th, 2010 by

Some people simply don’t like carmine because they don’t like Cochineal beetles being killed just for the color. That’s a fine reason to dislike carmine, maybe five years ago. But what people DON’T know is that it takes 70,000 Cochineal beetles to make one pound of carmine. If no one ever does anything about this particular problem, Cochineal beetles will definitely go extinct. And this statment is not a guess. 70,000 is not a small number.

There is a rumor that Coca-Cola contains carmine. This is not true.

Do YOU have a good idea thought up?

If you do, I’d love it if you shared it here on Lillystarr.com.

To post one of your own articles on Lillystarr.com, please write a comment that says so. But don’t say your idea yet! When you write this comment, make sure that you enter your E-mail address. I will then send you an E-mail, unknown… unknown unless you have a good idea, of course!

The Perfect Present For Anyone in The Family Is Right Here…

November 15th, 2009 by

When it comes to your family member’s birthday, what do you get them for a gift? Or how about Christmas? New Year’s? Here are all the perfect gift ideas, without leaving anyone in the family out.

For the sisters, or the girl cousins, or another girl, getting a lot of inexpensive  gifts is not so much of a good idea. You might want to get just a few (not a lot because spending a fortune is not what you dreamed up!) expensive presents. For an example, you could get a scooter. Then you could pick out 1 or 2 more.

For the brothers, or the boy cousins, or another boy, they like to have something electronic. A remote control car or helicopter is a good idea of what they like. Some young males like a small portable toy.

For most babies and toddlers, they like something that they have never seen before. Then, afterward, they learn what it is.  They also like something that involves having someone else around. Like a book, because they can’t read yet, so someone has to read it to them. Also, a book has pictures, and they may learn something from the picture too, not just the book.

For the teenagers, all I can say is that like young girls, they might enjoy just one big gift.

For the grownups (about past 20), they always enjoy going somewhere that they like. Maybe a restaurant, gambling place, or even the bowling alley. But they love it when you pay for it or it’s a surprise.

For the ones a little older, they like a gift card for a book, movie, or something entertaining. But the their favorite thing is to get lots of hugs from everyone.

The uncles and aunts can be like the grownups, or the older people, depending on their personality.

Do you want to be officially against homework? Well then this is for you!

October 6th, 2009 by

First of all viewers, you may wonder why I’m doing a crazy thing like this. So I will tell you. I REALLY don’t like homework.

This is how this will work. First, I add 3 ideas of how homework isn’t that good sometimes. Then you can post a comment, telling me another reason homework is sometimes not that good. Your own idea can be a brainstorm from my ideas, or you can make up a totally different thing. If you send me one of your ideas, then I’ll put it up on here. From your idea, someone else, me, or yourself can post another idea, brainstorming from that idea, or just making up a different idea. This will go on and on, until nobody posts up a new idea. If even just 1 person posts a comment of how they think homework is good, then I’ll start a list of reasons homework is good. So. Let’s get started! And don’t forget to check the comments on here so you can know who came up with these AWESOME ideas!

1: Homework is bad for the earth because it uses paper.

2: Homework is bad for the kids who do it because it uses up time that the kid could be learning something new.

3: Homework is bad for the parents who have kids that do it because if the child does not understand the work, then the parent has to help the child do the work, and this uses up time that the parent could be doing something that is much more important.

4: Homework is bad for a child’s time sometimes because sometimes they have after school things like dance, music, gymnastics, or drama.

5: Homework is bad because the children should understand their work before they leave school.

6: Lots of my friends don’t enjoy homework, they tell me that sometimes, and I tell them that too.

7: Sometimes, you don’t understand your homework and you have to feel frustrated.

8:  Sometimes you have to stay up late to do your homework, and then you don’t get enough sleep. Sometimes the parents don’t, either.

carmine and cochineal

August 23rd, 2008 by

About two months ago I sent a letter to the Burt’s Bees company to tell them to stop putting carmine in their products. Finally, they wrote back to me. What they basically said was that they don’t care. So, if you buy something by the Burt’s bees company, then be sure that it does not have carmine in it.

Try The Meat Of The Future!

July 16th, 2008 by

Try the meat of the future! It’s called “veggie meat”. It’s meatless meat. But you still get protein and vitamins. It comes in all different flavors too. It comes in sticks, thin slices, burgers, hot dogs, and jerky.

Treat Them Like A Treat!

May 4th, 2008 by

Say you got what you have been wanting for your whole life. You wouldn’t just say, I don’t want it anymore. You would take it. That is the way you should treat other humans and animals. If it’s a human you shouldn’t get in a fight with them or be mean to them. If it’s an animal then don’t hurt it or kill it. For instance don’t hurt a human or don’t smoosh a bug. Because you wouldn’t want somebody to do it to you.

My Home Is A Cage

May 2nd, 2008 by

Do you think animals like to live in cages? You don’t see humans in cages. All animals should be free like humans. They don’t get to say goodbye or honey, I’m home! I can’t picture me in a cage! So remember, you don’t want to live in a cage!

Be Nice To Animals!

May 1st, 2008 by

Have you ever wondered, why do we eat animals? It’s just like animals eating us. And we kill bugs, deer, pigs, and cows. It’s like humans are rich and animals are poor. There are other ways to be healthy like eating vegetables, fruits, and veggie meat. Humans and animals should be even. So, please be nice to animals!
